Meet Julio

  Born in San Antonio, TX in 1968. In 1969, my parents moved us to Houston, where I grew up in the Second Ward, East End of Downtown. Fond memories fill my mind of walking to school with the irresistible smell of coffee every morning coming from the Maxwell House coffee factory on Harrisburg Boulevard.  

Mom and Dad raised us with strong values, ethics, and integrity. They taught me to have faith in God, love our Country, and honor and protect my Family– while instilled in us the skills and work ethic necessary to succeed. Dad would say, “Son you must work hard all the time and not drop the ball, that’s how you become a man.” And Mom would say, “Mijo, I’m so proud of you! You are the best gift God could’ve given us.” I will admit Dad was stern, and Mom more encouraging of ideas I would have, however, I loved them all the more for as I grew up I realized that sternness and encouragement molded me into the man I am today. 

As a boy, finishing homework while working the register of a bakery we owned was a normal thing growing up for me. Business always preceded any leisure time. Over the years my family business had grown to include multiple locations. We had a restaurant, bar, night club, and of course the bakery. The family businesses were a big part of my life and learning experience. 

Later in life I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Political Science at the University of Houston Downtown, followed by Master in Public Administration. Additionally, obtained my Insurance License, through the Texas Department of Insurance. 

I am an Entrepreneur, Licensed Life & Health Insurance Agent, and most importantly a Family man with a wonderful wife of 24 years, and 3 wonderful children! I am also credentialed to be the Candidate to represent you and Texas District 29 in the United States House of Representatives! 

Today I’m ready to do the work and get to the business of changing the direction our country is heading. It is no secret our current administration is upside down in its direction, the decisions being made do not make sense. The southern border, Afghanistan, the decreasing of our oil production and then asking OPEC to increase theirs… are just a few examples.

Influencer of special notation: I must mention my first attraction to conservative thinking was brought on by a particular person by having stumbled onto his T.V. show later in the evening, 9:30 or 10:30 p.m. I don’t remember which. Rush Limbaugh quickly became one of my favorite personalities, first on T.V., then on the radio. I was just a teenager at the time. The first time I voted was for George H. W. Bush and a large part was because of Rush. And because of Rush, I have never voted for a Democrat. That was the power of Rush. I miss Rush’s voice.

I believe I can help bring back America as a Representative in Congress from Texas, to help put a stop to the mindless spending and corruption taking place in our nation’s capital. With God’s help I will join forces with likeminded Conservatives and hold the line. Nothing worthwhile comes easy, the time for action is now. Send me.
